Practice Support and Development Coordinator

Fixed term: (March/April 2021 to end 2022*)
Fraction: We are accepting expressions of interest to job share this position with 2 co-coordinators fulfilling the role (total combined FTE of 0.6-0.8). Expressions of interest for the full role of 0.6-0.8FTE are welcome

*Initial contract issued will be fixed term to 31 December 2021 and extension to 31 December 2022 will be subject to Department of Health Funding and contract renewal.

Reporting to the Director of Medical Education and Training, the Practice Support and Development Coordinator is responsible for coordinating advice and support to training practices across the region to provide positive learning environments for registrars. The position is also responsible for coordinating and delivering professional development for training practice staff including practice managers and supervisors including workshops, on-line education and support for individualised practice staff and supervisor professional development. This position is also responsible for mentoring/supporting emerging supervisors.

Key responsibilities of the role include:
· Developing and implementing a support structure and development program for training practices across the region.
· Developing relationships with training practices to provide the support needed to optimize quality learning environments for registrars.
· Implementing a curriculum for professional development of practice staff and supervisors that meets their needs and those of their registrars.
· Identifying the most effective modalities for delivering each component of the professional development program by referencing current best evidence competency frameworks.
· Ensuring that professional development activities align with the training standards of RACGP and ACRRM.
· Ensuring professional development activities match local needs.
· Medical Educator PD planning and delivery.
· Coordinating and managing the Practice Support and Development team.
· Contributing to medical education leadership

· Full and unconditional medical registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
· Fellowship of the RACGP and/or ACRRM.
· Vocational Registration and currency of clinical practice.
· Extensive first-hand experience in the organisation and delivery of health services in a general practice.
· Experience in management and supervisory roles with proven leadership skills and ability to motivate and gain the confidence of colleagues.
· Demonstrated ability to provide support and development for stakeholders.
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
· Excellent problem solving, conceptual and analytical skills with a thorough understanding of relevant policies and processes.
· Significant experience in conflict resolution.
· Knowledge and experience of flexible learning options and solutions.
· A passion and commitment to training and education, with a thorough understanding of adult education principles and techniques.

· Postgraduate qualifications in education.
· Driver’s license.
