Outstanding Semester 1 Feedback
All registrars are reminded to submit their 6-week and 20-week Registrar Feedback via Pivotal as soon as possible. It is expected that the feedback is completed with the registrar and supervisor both present as two-way feedback. Overdue feedback will impact on a registrar’s eligibility to sit exams and submit their completion of training to EV.

Semester 2 2018: Employment Agreements (6 August 2018 – 3 February 2019)
All registrars and training practices should now have signed employment agreements in accordance with the National Terms and Conditions for the Employment of Registrars (NTCER) in place for semester 2.

Semester 2 Feedback
6-week Registrar Feedback and the GPT1 In-Practice Performance Assessment will be due at week 6 of semester 2 on 14 September 2018. The In-Practice Performance Assessment is only required for those registrars commencing GPT1 in semester 2 and replaces the 6-week Registrar Feedback.

Aboriginal Health Reflective Activity
Completion of a 500-word reflective piece in response to a book, poem or film is a requirement of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Curriculum.
The reflective piece is due on 28 September 2018 or 29 March 2019 for current GPT2 and above registrars.
Registrars commencing GPT1 from semester 2 of 2018 are required to submit the reflective piece at the end of their GPT1 placement.

Learning Plan
An updated Learning Plan for semester 2 must be submitted by 3 September.  Please ensure there are at least 4 learning needs documented and include any placement based learning activities which have been planned with the supervisor.
The Learning Plan is to be reviewed and discussed at your first ECT visit.
For instructions on how to update the Learning Plan on Pivotal, visit EV Help

Training Plan
EV will be implementing a new process for submitting and reviewing registrar Training Plans. This will commence from Semester 2 2018. Please look out for a communication regarding this process change. The Training Plan is to be reviewed by your ECT visitor prior to your first visit.

ReCEnt
The ReCEnT survey is completed during GPT1, GPT2 and GPT3 by all registrars in training.  The survey will be distributed to registrars at their workshops during the semester.

Peer Learning Workshops
Peer Learning Workshops are outlined in the Pivotal calendar and the Outline of a Semester.  Workshop dates should be blocked out of the appointment book, and registrars should not be on-call the day prior to a workshop.

October Supervisor Residential
Supervisors registered to attend the Residential Workshop in October will be sent their workshop preferences shortly by Natalie Croning.

Outstanding Semester 1 Supervisor Feedback
All supervisors are reminded to submit their 6-week, Performance Assessment and 20-week supervisor feedback via Pivotal as soon as possible. It is expected that the feedback is completed with the registrar and supervisor both present as two-way feedback.  Overdue feedback will impact on a registrar’s eligibility to sit exams and submit their completion of training to EV.

Semester 2 Feedback
Week 6 Supervisor Feedback and the GPT1 In-Practice Performance Assessment will be due at week 6 of semester 2 on 14 September 2018.
The In-Practice Performance Assessment is only required for those registrars commencing GPT1 in semester 2 and replaces the 6-week Supervisor Feedback.

Supervision and Teaching
EV requires training practices to provide a level of supervision and teaching appropriate to the competence, training needs and level of each registrar.  The following minimum levels of supervision and teaching are required:

RCTIs
A reminder that RCTI’s are due on the 14th of each month for registrars undertaking GPT1, GPT2 and GPT3.  RCTI’s serve multiple purposes – from a practice perspective, they are the method utilized for making a claim for payment of practice and teaching subsidies to EV.
More importantly however, they form an integral part of the training record for a registrar and provide up to date information to EV on registrar teaching activities, patient numbers etc. in the practice.
When this information is regular and current we are able to assist registrars with any issues that may arise from time to time with their training needs.  If the RCTI’s are only received sporadically it makes it more difficult to assist in a timely manner.

Practice Manager Workshop
Invitations to the next Practice Manager Workshop 18th September have been sent via email. The agenda for the workshop focuses on ‘You, Your World, Your Practice Culture’.  Practice Managers wishing to attend should email Natalie at natalie.croning@evgptraining.com.au.

Semester 2 2018: Employment Agreement (6 August 2018 – 3 February 2019)
All registrars and training practices should now have signed employment agreements in accordance with the National Terms and Conditions for the Employment of Registrars (NTCER) in place for semester 2.
