From January 2021 Professor Neil Spike AM, EV GP Training’s Director of Medical Education and Training, has an adjunct appointment as Professor (Practice) in Rural Health, School of Rural Health, Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences with Monash University. “I am delighted to be working with Monash University in this role. It provides an opportunity for EV and Monash University to strengthen relationships to support education, training and research in the region,” says Professor Neil Spike. “The benefits are mutual and consistent with our goals in the region of greater community engagement and providing the right doctor, for the right practice for the right community with the right support,” says Professor Spike. EV in partnership with Latrobe Regional Hospital has successfully filled all 15 GP non-core rotations for Gippsland Rural Intern Trainees (GRIT) and 4 rotations for junior doctors in the second postgraduate year (PGY2) for 2021.
