In early May I attended the first Supervisor Residential for 2017 at San Remo which was attended by over 100 supervisors across the EV region. It was pleasing to see the engagement with the education team and colleagues sharing ideas and information about training our future general practice workforce. We were fortunate to have the Federal Member for Flinders, Minister for Health and Sport, the Honourable Greg Hunt attend and share the current government’s strategies on health. Thank you to all those involved in making this event such a success.

I look forward to attending the second GP Supervisor Residential in the Yarra Valley in October. EV prides itself on ensuring GP Supervisors have the ability to come together in a collegiate manner to learn and to engage with our staff and peers.

EV’s AGM was held in April. We acknowledge retiring Directors Dr Ed Vergara and Dr Roheela D’Cruz and thank them for their involvement with EV since its inception. We welcome two new Directors to our Board; Ms Sophie Valkan and Dr John Furler. Dr Nola Maxfield was re-elected to the Board.

The Board will be meeting in July in Churchill. This will be an important session as we are half-way through our current 3-year funding cycle. EV expects to be well placed in 2018 to continue our good work.
