Since Eastern Victoria GP Training was registered in July last year, the Board has been busy setting up the governance framework for the organisation. We have appointed David Glasson our CEO, ratified all governance polices, identified our main risks and legislative compliance requirements, set up three committees of the Board, determined our key performance indicators and confirmed our strategic plan
On 19 April we will hold our first Annual General Meeting (AGM) where we will announce the following Director positions appointed in accordance with our Constitution:
- Eligible Director Supervisor (Rural)
- Eligible Director Supervisor (General)
- Eligible Director Registrar (Rural)
- Eligible Director Registrar (General)
- Appointed Directors x 3
We received an excellent response to the “invitation to apply.” The Board Directors were heartened by the number of applications and the quality of the applicants who applied to be Director and it was a privilege to be part of the selection panel for the Eligible Director Positions. Thank you to the other Board Directors who were also on the selection panels.
We have also been busy meeting with prospective company members. A Board Director attended each stakeholder meeting with David Glasson. It was a great opportunity to introduce EV GP Training and to discuss how we can work with our members. I will officially welcome our new members at our AGM and thank and farewell the founding members – Southern GP Training and the Victoria Metropolitan Alliance who depart the membership at the close of the meeting. Both organisations have been of great assistance in the transition to EV GP Training.
This is an exciting time for GP Training in eastern Victoria and I am pleased to have been the independent chair during its establishment.
