On Friday 5 May 2017 over one hundred General Practice (GP) training supervisors came together to attend a Residential Workshop at San Remo, as part of the Eastern Victoria GP Training (EV) program. Most of the GP supervisors attending the San Remo Workshop are practising GPs from across Gippsland and the Mornington Peninsula, who are committed to training the next generation of GPs in the region.

The Hon Greg Hunt MP, Federal Member for Flinders, Minister for Health and Minister for Sport, outlined initiatives underway in General Practice and the 2017 Federal budget which he described as being of benefit to the Gippsland community with a focus on strengthening Medicare, Mental Health, Preventive Health and Medical Research.

The presentation was well received by all, with a number of questions from the GPs relating to ensuring ongoing GP services to our communities across the region.
