EVGPT has achieved a record number of applications for entry into GP training next year. Applications for the 2022 AGPT program across both rural and general pathways were the highest since EVGPT commenced in 2016. EVGPT’s rural training pathway attracted 51 applications for 40 places with the general training pathway receiving 152 applications for 80 places.
“This is an excellent result in difficult times. The past 12 months has had many challenges for our industry, for junior doctors and indeed for our organisation,” says Dr Mark Rowe, CEO.
“To see the high level of interest in pursuing general practice training with EVGPT acknowledges the sustained excellent performance of our staff and stakeholder organisations. Importantly our work will lead to better health outcomes for our communities,” says Dr Rowe.
