Thong is inviting you to participate in a research study exploring GP registrars’ attitudes and experiences in providing primary healthcare to resettled refugees.
Your participation will be rewarded with a $50 gift card and involves the completion of a 60-minute face to face or telephone interview. If you are interested, please read the Explanatory Statement and contact Thong for further information.
Registrar Social Event
Let’s get social! In the later part of this year we will be having both a metro and a rural social event. Keep your eyes peeled on the Facebook page (EV GP Training Registrars) and your emails, we will be sending out more information once it is confirmed.
The GP19 Conference is in Adelaide this year 23-24 October 2019. Registrations are now open; early bird registrations close on 1 August 2019.
Expressions of Interest in RLO Role
There is an opportunity for another metro and rural registrar to join the team of RLOs with some of our previous RLOs now fellowing. If you are interested, please read the Position Description and email David Glasson with an expression of interest.
If you’re interested in becoming an RLO and would like to hear from someone in the role, watch Billy Stoupas talk about his experience as an RLO in this video.
Personal Support – EV Psychological Support Program
We care for people every day in a challenging job but sometime neglect our own self-care. EV has some good tips on self-care for ourselves, available through the self-care workshops and in the registrar handbook. EV also supports registrars to further promote our wellbeing with access to EV funded psychological support program. This program gives registrars access to up to 8 sessions during training, billed directly by the registered psychologists de-identified to EV. You can access further information for this program through Pivotal by searching “psychology” in the resources section.
Give Us Feedback
Your registrar liaison officers, Damian, Alysha, Ebony and Billy, are keen to know how you are all going and support you. We also want to know the common issues that registrars are facing so that we can make positive changes for GP training with EV and in Australia through our work with GPRA. Please feel free to get in touch with us in person or through our email.
