AGPT National Registrar Survey

EV is committed to the continuous improvement in the training of doctors in the Australian General Practice Training (AGPT) program. Each year, the Australian Government commissions an external research company to conduct a survey of GP registrars to gauge the level of satisfaction with their training, regional training organisations and career progression.

In 2022, the AGPT NRS will again be administered to all eligible AGPT registrars by the Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER). The survey opened on June 27 and is running for four weeks. Each registrar is sent this survey to their personal email.

Registrars, EV encourages you to have your say and provide your thoughts by completing the survey. Please monitor your email for an invitation to complete the survey, full details will be provided including a link to the surveyThe survey will take approximately 10 minutes to complete and the results enable the Department of Health to monitor the performance of the program and help bring emerging issues to the attention of the Department and other GP training stakeholders.

The 2021 AGPT National Registrar Survey (NRS) Final Report is available to download from the Department of Health website and EV’s results can be found here.

Academic Posts

Academic posts are a great opportunity if you are interested in developing your research and/or teaching skills, or are considering an academic career pathway in the future.

The posts aim to provide exposure to research and the academic environment and encourage registrars to incorporate academic work into their careers. By the end of the placement, registrars can expect to have undertaken a research project and submitted a paper for publication. This is an excellent opportunity to experience academic general practice and it may be the beginning of a career in academic medicine.

2023 Academic Post applications are now open for both Colleges.
