The 2017 training year is well underway, and we hope you’re all settling into your final placements for the training year, and that things are progressing well! As your Registrar Liaison Officers, we are here to provide all EV registrars support and information throughout your training. Always feel free to chat to us in person, or you can contact us about any issues through the following e-mail address:firstname.lastname@example.org
1 New RLOs
Over the last couple of months the existing RLO team have been transitioning to the new team. We would like to extend our sincerest gratitude to Diem Pham, Anza Memon, Roisin Kinsella, and Jomini Cheong for their tireless effort and commitment to looking after registrars in the program during their time in the role. We hope to continue to build on a number of the initiatives they established. The new metropolitan RLO’s are Adam Braithwaite, Shikha Chhabra, Billy Stoupas and rural RLO Romey Giles.
2 RACGP Exams
Well done to all those who completed the college exam process earlier this year, and to those who received good news with the recent (slightly early!) AKT results. We hope for further good news awaiting the KFP results due on 13 September. We are currently in the process of evaluating how we can best support our registrars for the OSCE exam on 12 November. This is likely to be in conjunction with EV in an effort to most closely simulate the actual exam to best help you with your preparation. We will update you with final details soon.
3 2017 Terms and Conditions Benchmarking Survey
Have your say on your employment terms and conditions, training experience and other issues that matter for GP registrars. Complete the survey and be in the draw for a $500 pre-paid VISA card or one of five $100 vouchers. Click on this link to take the survey: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/LZ69TJ5
Your participation will help GPRA respond constructively to the problems that registrars face and to inform future NTCER negotiations.
4 Professional Development Allowance
At the start of this year you were sent detailed information regarding the current guidelines for each registrar’s ‘Professional Development Allowance’. Please make sure you read this carefully. It must be submitted by November this year, so if you’re nearing the end of training it might be worthwhile looking into those conferences / workshops you would like to attend while the allowance is available.
It is important to highlight that there is a maximum of:
- $1500 in total for General pathway registrars (calculated over the training period)
- $3000 in total for Rural pathway registrars (calculated over the training period)
5 GP17 Conference
This year, the RACGP annual conference will be held in Sydney from the 26th to 28th October. The program is quite comprehensive and includes a number of pre exam sessions for those thinking about sitting next year. Details and the full program are available via the website http://www.gp17.com.au

7 New registrars
Finally, we’d like to extend a warm welcome to the new 2018 cohort of registrars! We hope to organise some social events in the upcoming months, so keep an eye out for updates.
Again, we are here to support you guys so please call or write to us if you need to clarify/talk about anything at any stage. Have a great week and we’ll be in touch again soon!
