In 2017, the Federal Minister for Health, the Honourable Greg Hunt announced that the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) and the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACRRM) will take responsibility for the Australian General Practice Training (AGPT) Program.
EV continues to focus on the delivery of the high-quality GP training programs under our current funding obligations and remain committed on the task of training competent and confident GP registrars for Eastern Victorian communities. EV will continue to work closely with all stakeholders as we progress through this period of transition to provide the two Colleges with the best possible foundation upon which to progress general practice training for the future.
The management and delivery of the AGPT program by ACRRM and RACGP will commence from 1 February 2023.
